AC/DC's YOUNG Brothers Named One Of Australia's Richest Families
July 25, 2013According to Business Review Weekly magazine, the Young family, featuring Angus and Malcolm of AC/DC and George Young of THE EASYBEATS and FLASH & THE PAN, is worth AUD $255 million (approximately US $233 million),making them Australia's 48th richest family.
The Young brothers, who were the only entertainers to make Business Review Weekly's 2013 list, were born in Scotland. Although Angus and George no longer live in Australia, they are Australian citizens and are therefore considered Australian artists.
According to Noise11, George Young was a founding member of THE EASYBEATS and, along with Harry Vanda, wrote a catalogue of hits for John Paul Young and Stevie Wright and had songs covered by Rod Stewart, David Bowie, INXS, Suzi Quatro and BAY CITY ROLLERS. They also produced many of the early AC/DC albums (through "If You Want Blood" in 1978).
